Indian Delegation Explores Hydrogen Power Innovation at Energys

Energys was honoured to welcome a delegation of Indian hydrogen industry leaders and government officials to our Mulgrave head office and manufacturing facility.

The delegation, led by Dr. Anita Gupta, Scientist G & Head, Government of India, came to learn from Energys' world-leading hydrogen fuel cell generator technology. Other notable guests included Dr. Ranjith Krishna Pai, Scientist F & Senior Director & Hydrogen Program Officer; Dr. Arindam Bhattacharyya, Scientist F, Program Officer handling the Australian desk; Dr. Prashant Kumar Singh; Mr. Narendra Nath Veluri from ANERT-HVIC, Kerala; Dr. Prashant Kumar Gupta from IIT Jodhpur; and Mr. Harish Kumar Gupta from SMEs, New Delhi.

Dr Joe Varga, Chief Science Officer; Sam Rowe, Engineering Manager; Bishnu Sapkota, Mechatronics and Control Engineer; Ben Durrant, Communications Advisor, represented Energys. The visit began with a warm greeting from the Energys team and a comprehensive briefing on our hydrogen fuel cell generator technology and product range. This was followed by a dynamic discussion covering the latest advancements in hydrogen fuel cell technology and its potential applications across various industries. The conversation delved into regulatory challenges and opportunities in Australia, the importance of collaboration for establishing an innovation cluster, and the need for skilled professionals, government incentives, and market demand predictions. There was a strong emphasis on the potential of green hydrogen as a reliable and sustainable energy source and sustainable energy solutions for remote areas, including condensing systems, fuel cells, batteries, and filtration systems. The discussion highlighted the importance of driving standards and consistency in Australian standards.

Energys Founder and VP Noel Dunlop shared his decade-long experience in the hydrogen industry, highlighting partnerships and product development efforts.

The conversation also addressed challenges and opportunities in renewable energy, particularly the lack of infrastructure in remote areas and the need for government support to upgrade facilities. The design and testing of hydrogen fuel cell generator products for stationary power generation were also discussed, along with the approval process for hydrogen fuel cells in Australia.

The potential of hydrogen production for peaking power demand, citing efficiency advantages over traditional diesel gensets or gas burners, was another key topic. Additionally, Energys' efforts in the marine market, including partnerships and approvals from Lloyds Register and DNV, were explored.

The delegation was then given a tour of the manufacturing facility, where they observed hydrogen fuel cell technology and Energys' expertise in integration engineering. They viewed hydrogen fuel cell generators at various stages of manufacture and witnessed a live demonstration of a working 12kW hydrogen fuel cell generator.
